Gift giving is an act that can show just how thankful you are for the life that you have. The receiver will truly feel your gratitude when you give gifts for elevating happiness and wellbeing.
Giving gifts to loved ones for special occasions is an ancient tradition. Whether it has its roots in religion or ritual, we all love to give and receive. Many of us know of those who truly need something, and there is nothing quite as gratifying as giving them this.
Here at Durham Family Chiropractic we pride ourselves in supporting local communities and especially those helping others with in the North East. In the past we have raised funds for the following charitable organisations: St Cuthbert’s Hospice, Durham; The British Legion Poppy Appeal; Macmillan Coffee Morning; Gift for Granny Campaign; The Marie Curie Daffodil Appeal; and The Durham Foodbank.
This Christmas, we have decided to collect appropriate gifts for PROPS -Positive Response to Overcoming Substance Misuse. PROPS is a North East based charity that supports anyone who is affected by a loved one’s alcohol or drug abuse. They work with 600 families every year and are celebrating their 20year anniversary.
A key area of their work, is supporting young carers who age between 10 and 18 years old and are affected by a loved one’s addiction. These young people never ask for a single thing for themselves, as their only wish is that their loved ones get well. And this is where we come in, we can offer these deserving young carers our kind support by offering them a small gift this Christmas.
A message from PROPS: “It will mean so much to each of them to know that you have not judged them or their family members, but have instead shown love, compassion and support. I cannot put into words how this will make them feel. We would like to say a huge thank you for your support.”
We hope that all our staff and patients will join the act of supporting this worthy appeal. We have a collection box in our waiting room for your new but unwrapped contributions. Remember that these are gifts for girls and boys aged 10 to 18 years old. We will sort, group, wrap and label these for you. Last date for contributions 20 December 2017
