Sports Massage Therapist

Member of the Sports Massage Association Hours:

  • Monday: 2pm to 7pm
  • Tuesday:8am to 12pm
 

When David decided on a career change after a number of years in building construction it didn’t take him long to choose a new career. Always interested in sport, health and fitness and having qualified as a running coach in 2000, sports massage seemed the obvious choice. David qualified last year and has been gaining experience as a mobile sports massage therapist and massaging at cycling and running events such as the Kielder marathon, the Durham Beast and the Great North Run.

 David qualified in 2017 at level 4 in Sports Massage Therapy. David  is currently doing a BSc(Hons) Sport and Fitness Rehabilitationat Newcastle University College

“Sports massage can be of benefit to everyone, whether involved in sport or not. It can help with relaxation when feeling stressed as well as helping with the relief of muscular pain brought about by injury or dysfunction owing to accident or modern day living/ occupation.

For those involved in regular sports activity, regular massage is of great benefit in maintaining the soft tissue in a state that is able to take the rigours of regular training therefore helping injury prevention. When faced with injury, sports massage therapy will help with symptomatic pain relief and get you back on track.”
